DNF for Bo at LeMans

Bo started his race from fourteenth on the grid. “I had a bad start but we were shown a red flag after the first corner, so everybody had to go back to the pit. I saw ambulances on the track but had no idea how serious the crash was.” One of the riders in front of Bo on the grid, stalled his bike. Bo could avoid it, but three riders in the backfield, already up to speed, ran into the stalled rider. The race was stopped immediately and medical assistance was on the grid right away. Luckily none of the riders was injured badly. At the restart Bo again didn’t get a good start and had to try to make up some places right away. “I was recovering some spots quit easily so I felt good about even getting further up soon. Luca Marini was with me and my plan was to go with him to try and close the gap to the frontrunners. In the second lap I got tangled up between two riders braking into a corner. The guy next to me hit me and I ended up in the gravelpit crashing my bike. I was not able to continue the race, wich was a real shame.” Bo had a troubled qualifying. In his first qualifying session there were some issues with the bike setup, and some adjustments had to be made. The second session went well. Coach Barry Veneman: “The field in the Spanish Open is very strong, the first thirteen riders qualified within a second. LeMans isn’t a track that is very technical, so it’s difficult to make a difference. Everyone is fast around here. I think fourteenth time for Bo wasn’t that bad at all.”
