Fourth for Bo in first race at Portimao

With fourth in the first race of the Spanish Open, Bo showed he’s going to be a force to be reckoned with this season. He had a good weekend at Portimão, with taking third in qualifying but just missing out on the podium in the race. After a poor start Bo gets after six laps connection to the group fighting for third. He’s in front of the group most of the time, but breaking away is not possible. “My strength is in braking, but when I managed to open up a little gap, those guys came flying by again on the straight. In front Joan Mir and Nicolo Bulega were fighting for the win and the gap was to big to be closed. So the last step of the podium was up for grasp. At the end of the race Bo made a slight mistake and ran wide, falling back to fifth. He managed to fight back and take fourth at the end. “We had a good race and being third on the grid gave me a great opportunity. I was confident I could be on the podium before the race started. My start wasn’t all that, so I first had to make up some places. Too bad I made a mistake at the end of the race, wich cost me some time, and the podium was out of reach then. A little bit mixed feelings about being able to go for the rostrum and just missing out. But I think we should be satisfied with this result. Last year we only could dream about such a result, and now we’re right there in the first race. Still the season is very long, but this is really a boost for us for the next races.”
