With a fourth in race one and a ninth in race two, Bo had a nice farewell weekend with his Dutch Racing Team at the Spanish Open. “We had a good setup and were in the top of the field all weekend. Qualifying went really well (P5) and fast laptimes were coming in quit smoothly. I really like the Jerez circuit, it fits my style. Off course I wanted to be up a little further in the second race, but overall we had a good weekend. I want to say a big Thank You to the guys of Dutch Racing Team for the last two seasons. I learned a lot and I’m happy we could bring home some good results this last weekend.” Starting of the grid from P5 and having a good start, Bo was soon in fourth. In the first few laps of the race he was close to the three frontrunners, but the gap to them opened up and he wasn’t able to close it. Bo defended his fourth spot, holding of Dalla Porta, Yamada and Petrarca, keeping them at a few seconds chasing him. Bo took the checkered flag in fourth. “The guys in front of me were a lot faster. I lost time on the straights, because I couldn’t get a slipstream. It was impossible to close the gap to them. So I tried to keep my fourth position and that worked out well.”
Race 2
Bo lost some spots after the start of race two and was in tenth for almost the entire race. When Joan Mir slid of in the middle of the race, Bo gained a spot and held it till the finish. “There was a lot of wind in the second race, and that cost me some topspeed at the straights. Where I was able to open up a gap in the first race, I wasn’t in the second. OIn the straight I was passed by a few guys, but I couldn’t stay with them. I had to take to many risks trying to make up some spots. Ninth was the best I could do.”
Bo will not be competing in the last race of the championship held at Valencia. He will be testing with the Red Bull KTM Ajo team next week, his new team for next year. “A few days before testing we’ll meet up with the team to get to know the guys and allready go through some stuff. Then we will be testing, I’m really looking forward to be working with the team and race the factory KTM.”
