The Qualifying practice got on his way at 12:35 local time, and there were quit some crashes during the session. Adam Norrodin was the first faller, damaging his bike heavily. After the first run it was Romano Fenati leading, in front of Kornfeil and Jorge Navarro. Brad Binder saw his fastest lap being cancelled for exceeding the track limits. This left him in eleventh. Bo Bendsneyder was eighteenth after his first run. Halfway the session, Norrodin’s teammate Kornfeil had a crash. Binder was fastest in his second run in front of Canet, Bulega and Fenati. Bo was in 19th. In the last run Brad Binder, Darryn Binder, Livio Loi and Bo Bendsneyder went out together trying to get in a faster laptime. After one lap they came in again for a ride through, looking for some clear track. All four riders weren’t able to set a faster laptime. This resulted in Antonelli taking the pole in his last lap, pipping Binder to second. Bo Bendsneyder lost some spots, ending up in 21st at the end of the session. In the last run there were also crashes for Jules Danilo and Bulega.
