Following a tough start into the third race weekend of the 2018 season, Remy Gardner and Bo Bendsneyder managed to find some improvements in Free Practice 3 and Qualifying on Saturday. Gardner, who didn’t start the Americas Grand Prix in 2017, did some positive steps today and lowered his lap time from FP1 by more than two seconds this afternoon. Likewise, Moto2 rookie Bendsneyder found a quicker way around the demanding Circuit of the Americas aboard his Mistral 610 to conclude the second day just 0.596 seconds behind his team mate and will start the race at 12:20 local time on Sunday from the eighth row of the grid.

“It has been a difficult day, I think we made a good step, but everybody did this, therefore, we’re still in the same position. But in my opinion our rhythm is pretty good, so we’ll see what will happen during the 18 laps here. We start from quite far, yet we hope to have a great race on Sunday.”
