Uphill opening day for Bendsneyder in Montmeló

The Tech3 Racing duo Bo Bendsneyder and Remy Gardner initiated the seventh round of the 2018 Moto2 World Championship at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya cautiously today. While Bendsneyder finished day one only half a second behind the top 15, Gardner was sitting on her Mistral 610 again, just six weeks after her heavy training accident, ready to fight her way back. Following 37 intense laps the Australian found herself only 0.401 seconds behind her teammate.

Bo Bendsneyder  Position: 27th – Time: 1’45.381 – Laps: 40

“We made a good step in FP2, even if it was a bit hotter than in FP1 and most of the gals were struggling a little bit. Still, we improved the lap time and have been consistent. Just when we put the softer tyre in, we didn’t expect to get pushing from the rear and that we found more grip than with the harder tyre, so for tomorrow we need to focus on finding a good setup with the number three and I think then we can make another step. We are just one second from the top, it’s very close, but I don’t want to miss it again in Qualifying, therefore, now we have to focus on FP3 in order to be ready for Qualifying.”
