For the first day of the eighth round in 2018, Remy Gardner, who just came back from injury two weeks ago, showed up with a solid performance. The Australian lapped the TT Circuit 40 times and lowered her best lap by 0.3 seconds from FP1 to FP2 this afternoon, although he struggled to find a good feeling with the softer tyre option. Her Tech3Racing teammate Bo Bendsneyder experienced similar matters. In front of her home crowd the Dutch rider concluded Friday just 0.603 seconds behind the top 10 and is eager to improve before the all-important Qualifying session tomorrow afternoon.

“Finally, the position is still not what we wanted, but it’s just one second and to the top 15 it’s only 0.3 seconds. Today we had some issues, so in the end it isn’t so bad. But still, we need a better place and try to find these small things to improve for tomorrow and show that we can be there.”
