The Austrian Grand Prix started today with one dry and one wet Free Practice. Thereby,Tech3 Racing team rider Remy Gardner initiated the morning with some decent laps, missing out on the top by just one second, before he did really well in the rainy afternoon session and eventually ended up in fourth position. On the other hand, Bo Bendsneyder concluded FP1 just 0.547 seconds behind his teammate. The Dutch rookie was set to improve on his fastest lap, but the rain stopped his progression in the second Free Practice this afternoon, which he finished in 21st place. Now both, Bendsneyder and Gardner hope to get another dry chance in tomorrow’s FP3 at 10.55 local time.

“FP1 was quite difficult, we struggled a lot. Our gearing was too long, so we wanted to change it for FP2, but then it was wet. Let’s hope for some more dry time tomorrow to try it. In the wet my feeling was quite good, but in the end, there was a lot of water on the track and I didn’t want to take the risk to make any damage on the bike or myself. Overall, I think it was not our best day, but we collected a lot of information, which we now need to convert to some strong lap times tomorrow.”
