For a long time, it looked like Bo Bendsneyder could qualify directly for QP2 at Motorland Aragon. However, in the final phase of the second free practice, the Dutchman was unable to improve his time. He finished the first day in Spain in 18th. Simone Corsi managed to improve his time in the afternoon session, but that didn’t help the Italian to improve his position from 22nd. The start was good. In FP1, Bendsneyder set the fourteenth fastest time with 1.53.700. In FP2 he also stayed around that position, which gives the right to direct placement for QP2, for a long time. “Unfortunately, on new tires we couldn’t make the difference that we needed,” NTS RW Racing GP team manager Jarno Janssen saw. “But the differences are small and the times are competitive. With the expectation of rain for tomorrow, it can go either way.” Simone Corsi, who also in Aragon substitutes with NTS RW Racing GP, was faster in the second practice than in the first session, but in terms of classification he did not improve and remained 22nd.
Bo Bendsneyder: “There was more wind this afternoon than this morning and that made it difficult to improve the times. Unfortunately, three others who were behind me this morning managed to be faster. With the new tire I had a lot of vibrations in the left turns. It is still difficult to say what caused the chatter, but we will sort it out. It must certainly be possible to achieve QP2, but we must look at where we stand when it rains, as is expected for tomorrow.”
