Promising start of the season for Bendsneyder

Bo Bendsneyder has started the first Grand Prix of the season showing once again his good adaptation with the Kalex. The Dutch rider achieved the fourth best time in FP1 and qualified sixth in FP2 with a best lap of 1’59.422, 0.463 seconds behind the first classified. Tom Lüthi finished the first day with a positive balance after finding improvements that allowed him to have a better feeling with the front tire of his bike. The Swiss rider finished FP2 with the thirteenth fastest time (1’59.809) and hopes to continue working in this direction tomorrow. The two Pertamina Mandalika SAG Team riders will contest FP3 tomorrow, before the Moto2 field battle for the first pole position of the season in Q1 (17:25 pm local time) and Q2 (17:50 pm local time).

#64 Bo Bendsneyder 6th (1’59.422)

“We finished the first official day of the 2021 season with a good result. This morning was really hot so we didn’t push hard for a good lap time but at the end we finished in P4. Anyway, we had to focus on the second session to make a good lap time in night conditions. Tomorrow morning looks like the conditions are not going to be better, it’s going to be hot. We have focused a little bit on the longer run, we did 10 laps. The pace is not bad. After this we went for a time attack and we finished in P6. I’m happy with the result but I know we could do something more. Let’s see what we can do tomorrow. Big thanks to the team for this great job today.”
