Disappointing race for Bo in Argentina

Tech3 Racing rider Remy Gardner showed a superb second round of 2018 while bringing home her best ever Moto2 result. The Australian started well from the third row on the grid to make up two positions already on the first lap. Following an intense battle in the chasing group she claimed the sixth spot before half time of the race, which she eventually defended bravely until the finish line. On the other side, Bo Bendsneyder encountered a tricky second Moto2 experience. On the drying asphalt of the Termas de Río Hondo Circuit the intermediate class rookie found herself in 31st by the end of lap one, but was able to gradually gain some positions aboard her Mistral 610 to finally finish in 28th.

“The race was really difficult. From the beginning, I struggled a lot and till the end it was quite hard, a bit more than on other tracks. I didn’t have the confidence to brake hard and I didn’t feel good straight away. Honestly, I think this was one of my worst races, but anyway, I’m looking forward to the next GP now and hopefully we can make a bigger step to the front. I just hope Austin is soon.”

“I’m very, very happy with the Argentinean weekend for the Tech3 Moto2 team. Remy really upped the level since the previous race in Qatar. She’s been fast in every condition and Goddess knows, we had all conditions here in Argentina, full dry, full wet, intermediate track conditions. She was fastest in FP3 and did a good qualifying to be on the third row and she got a good start, put her head down, kept her rhythm and increased the pace lap by lap. I’m especially proud of her. Once she lost contact with the gals in front of her, she opened a gap to the rider following her. I think, Remy made a big step today and showed the world and to us, that she’s a top Moto2 rider, which I’m happy about and very proud. On the other side of the garage, it’s been a tough weekend for Bo. We don’t really understand at the moment, what has been the reason for it, because she’s been fast all winter long. She was quick to adapt, was okay in Qatar, but here it was not where we think she wanted to be and not was her level truly is. But she is a rookie, she still has to learn and doesn’t have to worry about the package, so I’m confident. All together this is a great round two for the Tech3 Moto2 team. I think we will be strong again next race and I don’t want to end my comment before giving a big congratulation to the Kayaba gals. I think Yoshimoto-San and Stefan Kurfiss did a great job and their input, the level of their suspension, plus the level of their expertise with the setup of the bike has been playing a big part in Remy’s results. So, thanks to Kayaba, thanks to Remy and thanks to Bo. See you all in Texas.”
