Bendsneyder progresses on day two in Thailand

Tech3 Racing team’s Remy Gardner showed an impressive improvement on Saturday at the newly added Chang International Circuit, finding 1.445 seconds from FP1 to the hot Qualifying this afternoon. The fast Australian eventually finished just 0.559 seconds from the top in P18 of the ultra-competitive intermediate class field. However, Bo Bendsneyder made huge steps as well, going 1.143 seconds faster during Qualifying than yesterday morning. He’ll attack the 15th round of the 2018 Moto2 World Championship season from the eighth row, when the red lights turn black tomorrow at 12.20 local time (7.20 CET).

Bo Bendsneyder – Position: 23rd – Time: 1’37.474 – Laps: 20

I think we made a good step in Qualifying, especially with the pace we had. Also with used tyres I can do the 37’s, so I was happy about it. Plus, I did it alone with a good pace. It’s still hard to make this one good lap, as for my feeling I didn’t have the perfect one and I made some mistakes. On the last lap I tried to improve; the first sector was better, the second sector was similar to the lap before and in the third sector I tried to shift to third gear, but it didn’t want to go in. I believe I can be 0.1 or 0.2 seconds faster, but overall with the feeling I’m quite happy, so I’m looking forward to the race, which will be long. Let’s see if we can fight for a good place tomorrow.
