Bendsneyder 17th in qualifying

Bo Bendsneyder has shown a very strong rhythm during all weekend, he managed to make his best lap time alone. Even though he qualified straight to Q2, he couldn’t do a perfect lap that would have placed him on the front positions of the grid so he will start tomorrow’s race from the seventeenth position on the sixth row of the grid.

“We made a good step forward this morning if we compare it with yesterday, so we are happy about that. We did the lap time alone; we know we could improve it for the qualifying but then it started raining again, but luckily we had a dry qualifying. From the first lap I already felt that I didn’t have the same grip as in the morning session when I felt much more comfortable. I struggled to even get the same lap time as in the morning, finally in the last lap I managed to make a good lap time. We need to understand why I didn’t have the same grip. Our pace is very good and the feeling with the bike is also good so I need to make a good start tomorrow to try to overtake as many riders as possible at the beginning and to be on the front group from the beginning. As always, we will give it all tomorrow!”
