Eighth row for Bendsneyder in qualifying

Bo Bendsneyder returned to the track after his outstanding performance in Indonesia. He started the weekend on the right foot, demonstrating his skill and experience on the track by achieving a great result in the first timed practice. However, the positive feelings faded throughout Saturday’s session, which led to him having to go through Q1. Although he started leading the qualifying, his effort was not enough to secure his passage to Q2, finishing in 22nd position.

#64 Bo Bendsneyder (P22):

“It’s been a strange weekend so far. We started really strong in FP1, we were fast from the start and with room for improvement. We started with the feeling we finished with in Indonesia, even though the track is different we showed that we are fast. However, in FP2 the feeling on the bike was strange and we were slow. The same happened in FP3, the strange thing was that we did not change almost anything in the bike compared to FP1, but the feeling was completely different. During qualifying we changed the bike completely and we were able to get back to a similar feeling to FP1, we were fast again but not fast enough to make it to Q2. We are far away behind the other riders, but we keep positive and keep pushing until tomorrow. We’ll see what the weather brings and hopefully we can have a good race.”
