“The second day here in Le Mans was again a strange day with the weather. This morning in the beginning was still a bit wet. After half session, we decided to put the slick tyres in, but the track was not as dry like yesterday in FP2 so we could not improve the lap time. I did not want take a lot of risk, specially now with my right arm because it’s easy in this condition to make a small crash and get injured. I took it easy as we knew we were in Q2 so we had a chance to make a good qualy. The main question was the weather. Five minutes before the Q2 it looked like it was going to be dry conditions, but in the end it was wet. I want to thank the whole team, not only my mechanics, but also Tom’s because everyone has worked on the bike to get it ready for wet conditions. That has helped me to get a better result. I had a good feeling from the beginning. I’m very happy. I start from sixth place tomorrow, but we have to see what weather conditions there will be. We have to stay calm and enjoy the moment.”
