Tech3 Racing’s Remy Gardner started the second day of action at the MotorLand Aragón circuit with a positive FP3 before he showed a brave performance during Qualifying to go 0.814 seconds faster than in yesterday’s afternoon session. The fast Australian eventually ended up in P20 and has to tackle the 14thround of the 2018 season from the seventh row of the grid, while Bo Bendsneyder ended up six positions behind his team mate. The Moto2 rookie did a strong third Free Practice this morning, where she lowered his Friday’s best time significantly by 0.689 seconds to finish less than one second behind the top. In Qualifying the Dutch rider ran out of fresh tyres but is optimistic for tomorrow’s 21 laps race.

“Overall, I’m not happy with my Qualifying. This morning we put in a new tyre and we expected that we can do the lap time on the first exit, but finally people showed that it can also be done on the last exit, but we didn’t have tyres anymore. It was really hard, but I think our pace is not so bad. My feeling is quite good. We still need to improve some small things in the front but I’m looking forward to the race and will try to keep my pace.”
